Deconstructed Salad

Ingredients:

  • Romaine/Artisan Lettuce

  • Avocado/Orange/Apple or Cucumber/mini peppers

  • Olives, optional

  • Dried Cranberries, optional

  • Walnuts, optional

  1. Wash and dry lettuce. Place on a serving platter.

  2. Cut fruit into slices (Chop cucumber and peppers). Add to platter.

  3. If using cranberries and nuts, place in a bowl and add to platter.

  4. Serve with your favorite dressing.

Notes&Tips:

  • I love making this salad as I don't have to chop or tear lettuce leaves. It saves me time. I also enjoy serving it this rugged as I find a certain enjoyment in taking only what I want.

  • This salad works well for our family as 3 persons do not use dressing, 1 uses oil and lemon juice, and 1 uses dressing.

  • A deconstructed salad allows each person to customize his/her salad.

  • There are many combinations with a deconstructed salad; it is only limited by your imagination.

  • I ensure I have lettuce and then add fruits and vegetables that are in the refrigerator. It's a good way to use up fruits and vegetables before they go bad.
