Seared Tuna with Herb Vinaigrette

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. wild caught tuna steaks

  • salt & pepper to taste

For Vinaigrette:

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tbsp lime juice

  • 1 tbsp minced parsley

  • 1 tsp fresh thyme

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp mustard powder

  1. Whisk together, 2 tbsp olive oil, lime juice, parsley, thyme 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp black pepper, onion powder and mustard powder. Set aside.

  2. Season tuna steaks with salt and pepper.

  3. Heat skillet on medium high. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil, cook tuna for 2 minutes per sides.

  4. Plate steaks and drizzle with vinaigrette. Serve.

Serves: 4

Notes&Tips:

  • These tuna steaks were 1" thick and cooked up quickly. Making the vinaigrette took more time than cooking the steaks!

  • The vinaigrette was very delicious and tasted fresh and light - like how summer feels in the Midwest!

  • Serve this with some grilled corn or asparagus or just a green salad for a light dinner.

  • And don't forget, leave me a comment after you make this for dinner/lunch!
