Stuffed Onion Burger

Most delicious burger

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 onion,thinly slice

  • 2 tbsp oil

  • 1/2 tsp each garlic powder, onion powder, ground mustard, paprika

  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley

  • salt and pepper to taste

  • 4 pieces of 1/2" cubed brie cheese (or cheese of your choice)

  • 4 hamburger buns

  • slices of red/orange sweet peppers and cucumbers

  1. In a medium bowl, combine beef and all seasonings until just incorporated. Do not over-mix.

  2. Divide beef into 4 equal portions.

  3. Press cheese into center of beef and cover completely, forming into balls.

  4. Heat a cast iron grill skillet on medium low heat. Add oil to skillet and saute onion, stirring occasionally for three to five minutes.

  5. Place balls of meat on top of onion in skillet and press down with a spatula to form patties, while incorporating the onion into the meat.

  6. Cook for 3 minutes per side.

  7. Served on toasted or plain buns with peppers and cucumbers.


Notes&Tips:

  • Hands down, this is the best burger I have had. Also, they were not too big to make anyone feel stuffed and ready to fall asleep!

  • This burger is best cooked in a skillet than a grill because of the way the onion is incorporated into the burger. An electric table top grill would work well, too.

  • Serve with a side salad and some steamed vegetables to complete the meal.

  • I used brie cheese, but cheddar, mozzarella, blue or feta would serve the same purpose.

  • Just simply delicious.
