Chocolate Pecan Cookies

Ingredients:
1/2 cup unsalted butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup chopped pecans
In a medium-sized bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt.
In an electric mixer, cream butter and sugar together.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Add egg, milk and vanilla and mix until just incorporated.
Slowly add flour mixture to creamed mixture. Stir or mix on low until just combined.
Stir in pecans. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment.
Drop dough by spoonfuls onto prepared pans.
Bake for 12 minutes. Let cool in pan for 5 minutes. Transfer to wire rack and let cool completely. Serve or store in an air tight container.
Yields: 24 small cookies
Notes&Tips:
These Chocolate Pecan Cookies are wonderfully chocolate-l-y without being too sweet.
I feel this is the way we need to experience the taste of chocolate without all that added sugar.
If you'd like larger cookies, double the portion for each cookie when placing on the baking sheet.
Feel free to substitute pecans for your favorite nut. Salted peanuts will work beautifully with these chocolate cookies.
